Nine arrested for possession of drugs in separate cases

The Amritsar Rural Police have arrested nine persons in different instances for allegedly possessing narcotics.
Those arrested were identified as Akash Singh and Daljit Singh of Bhullar village, Ravinder Singh of Butala village, Yudhbir Singh, Harmanpreet Singh of Gaziwal village in Beas, Manjit Singh of Chungh village, Rajinder Singh, Dalbir Singh, and Yadwinder Singh, all residents of Navi Abadi in Jandiala Guru area.
According to the police, Akash and Daljit were held with 10-gm heroin while Ravinder, Yudhbir, Harmanpreet and Manjit were arrested for possessing 50-gm opium, 200-gm narcotic powder and a bike.
Similarly, Rajinder, Dalbir and Yadwinder were nabbed with 30-gm heroin, Rs 4,590 drug money and aluminium paper.
Separate cases under the NDPS Act were registered against them and further probe was on.
1 held with 150-gm heroin
Meanwhile, CIA staff has arrested Akashdeep Singh of Mandiala village falling under the Chatiwind police station in Amritsar rural police district here. The police seized 150-gm heroin from his possession. He was arrested from Guru Ki Wadali area here on Thursday.
