Municipal Corporation conducts special drive to ensure cleanliness in Amritsar
The Amritsar Municipal Corporation started a special cleanliness drive here on Thursday. It would continue till November 7. During the drive, garbage will be lifted in all wards of the city, stated MC officials.
A meeting in this regard was held by MC Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh. It was attended by MLA (Central Assembly constituency) Ajay Gupta, MLA (West) Jasbir Singh Sandhu and MLA (South) Inderbir Singh Nijjer to give their suggestions for the drive.
Municipal Health Officers Dr Kiran Kumar, Dr Yogesh Arora, Assistant Commissioner Vishal Wadhawan, secretary Rajinder Sharma, SE Sandeep Singh were also present.
MC Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh stated that the government is giving priority to the holy city for its development.
Keeping in view the festival season, the government has decided to conduct a special cleanliness drive in the city.
During the drive, all religious and historical places, green belts and parks will be focused and efforts will be made to keep the city neat and clean. He said all the officials and employees of the civic body are performing their duty with full dedication.
A day-to-day plan was discussed and shared with the MLAs to make the drive successful and it was assured by the MLAs that their teams will provide full cooperation to the MC staff in the lifting of garbage in all wards of the city.
All efforts will be made to make Amritsar a beautiful city.
