MP meets flyers, seeks feedback on facilities at international airport
Member Parliament (MP) Gurjeet Singh Aujla held a review meeting with officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport here today. After meeting, Aujla shared plans to enhance facilities and services at the Airport. He updated officials regarding new developments at the airport. This included long-pending issue of cargo facility for perishable goods which was disrupted due to some technical issues.
Aujla announced that a new cargo facility for perishable goods would soon be available at the Amritsar airport. This would help farmers and traders to export their produce without any hindrance, he said.
He appealed to farmers and traders to use cargo facility to send their agriculture produce to foreign countries from the Amritsar airport and strengthen the state’s economy.
Aujla said, “Farmers and traders should utilise facilities at the Amritsar to export their goods worldwide.” Stressing on the airport’s excellent economy-class amenities and exceptional passenger care, he urged people to choose the Amritsar airport for travelling abroad.
The MP also confirmed that multiple new flights would be introduced to boost air connectivity and accessibility for passengers. This development would benefit both domestic and international travellers, he said. “New airlines are starting operations from the city. Announcements in this regard will be made soon,” he added.
“We hold a review meeting every month at the Amritsar airport to assess facilities and address problems of flyers. Our goal is to provide top-notch services at the airport and enable local community’s growth,” said Aujla.
He further said, “Being a Member of Parliament, I have been actively working for development in the holy city, addressing concerns and pushing for improvements. We are committed for enhancing the city’s infrastructure and economic opportunities.”
He also interacted with passengers and sought their feedback about services and infrastructure at the Amritsar airport.
