MC gives jobs to 85 dependents on compassionate grounds
Punjab Local Bodies Minister Ravjot Singh gave appointment letters to 85 persons at the municipal corporation office here on Saturday. Out of the 85 appointees, 19 have been selected as karaj sadhak officers, 18 drivers/operators and 48 safai sevaks, sevadars and beldars on compassionate grounds.
While handing over the appointment letters to candidates, Local Bodies Minister Ravjot Singh said, “You have become a part of the government and now you have to play an active role in the social and economic development of Punjab.” He said to achieve success in life, one should work hard. He advised the newly appointed employees to do their job with honesty and integrity.
Dr Ravjot Singh said jobs have been given without any recommendation, discrimination, nepotism and favouritism. He said appointments have been made only on the basis of merit. He said 1,255 employees have been appointed so far in the Local Government Department under Mission Rozgar, and these jobs are being provided in this series. He hoped that the newly appointed employees would make efforts to help the needy and backward sections of society.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal congratulated the employees said that you have been appointed in this holy city, where 1.25 lakh devotees come every day. It is your duty to work hard to keep this city neat and clean. He said our government is a common people’s government and common people should not face any problem. Jobs are being provided in every department under Mission Rozgar run by the Punjab Chief Minister. The entire recruitment process is conducted on the basis of fairness and appointments are being made only on the basis of merit.
