Mazdoor Sabha submits memo to Khadoor Sahib MLA Manjinder Singh Lalpura over demands

A delegation of the Dehati Mazdoor Sabha (DMS) presented a memorandum to Khadoor Sahib MLA Manjinder Singh Lalpura regarding the current demands of weaker sections of society at his residence in Lalpura village here on Sunday.
Jasbir Singh Verowal, district president of the sabha, said the sabha has been demanding to give jobs to NREGA workers and their family members for the whole year. They said that their daily wage should be increased to Rs 700.
Verowal said the NREGA-like Act should be implemented in urban areas too for the betterment of the weaker sections. He said the other demands of the sabha are: monthly pension of Rs 2,500 to the beneficiaries under social security schemes, release Rs 1,000 to all women as per the promise made in the run-up to the 2022 elections, etc. The sabha demanded the filling of all vacant posts in government departments on a regular basis.
