Man beats mother to death over property

In a shocking incident, a man killed his mother when she refused to transfer the property in his name at Wadala Khurd village falling under Khalchian police station here.

The deceased was identified as Amarjit Kaur (80) and the accused as Sawinder Singh.

The accused allegedly tried to bury the body of the deceased inside the house.

Police said on the complaint filed by deceased Amarjit Kaur’s daughter, a murder case was registered against Sawinder Singh who has been arrested. According to information received, the accused was in an inebriated condition when he thrashed his mother to death.

The police handed over the body to the family after postmortem examination.

The police said that Sawinder Singh wanted to get his share of land but his mother refused.
