Make women financially independent: Ex-diplomat

The NSS unit of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised an interactive session with former Indian ambassador to USA, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, as he engaged with the students on ideas for a progressive youth and nation building.
The Indian diplomat, who served as High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka and recently retired after serving as Ambassador of India to the United States, stressed on financial independence of women as an significant tool toward women empowerment. Sandhu, also provided insights into his career in the United States under two different administrations led by Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden with an enthusiastic young audience. He inspired the young students to follow their dreams relentlessly, motivating them to recognise their potential. He added there are tremendous opportunities in the global scenario, urging the students to explore such prospects and avail them appropriately.
Principal Pushpinder Walia lauded Taranjit Singh Sandhu’s accomplishments, emphasising his significant contribution to the city and the entire nation, garnering recognition on a global level. She said it is pragmatic to learn through the experiences of individuals like Sandhu.
