Kin protest inaction in land dispute case

Members of a family staged a dharna in the Chabal police station complex on Wednesday against the alleged indifferent attitude of the police in a case of land dispute. The family was led by an elderly Bhagwant Singh from Pandori Rehmana.

Bhagwant Singh said that they had all the relevant documents of the land given by the District Revenue Officer (DRO) but the family’s rivals were bent on creating hurdles in their way. The police was also not ready to listen to them, they alleged.

Bhagwant Singh said that they feared threat to their lives as the rivals were armed and had been threatening them. SHO Inspector Paramjit Singh Virdi said he would produce all documents before senior officials and the next course of action would be taken as per directions from higher officials.
