Indian Reserve Battalion cop held for sneaking narcotics into Amritsar Central Jail
The Islamabad police have arrested a senior constable of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) who was deputed at the Amritsar Central Jail here for allegedly trying to sneak in 120gm of narcotic powder inside the high-security jail premises here on Saturday.
Besides him, the police also booked Jadish Singh, alias Jagga, an inmate and resident of Shero Bagga village, for allegedly possessing a keypad phone with a SIM.
Jail staff said they got a tip-off that senior constable Kulbir Singh IRB was allegedly involved in supplying narcotic substances inside the jail.
Following this, his activities were under observation of the jail department. Yesterday, they found his activities suspicious and during search, recovered a total of 120gm of drugs from him.
Following a complaint lodged by Nareshpal, Assistant Superintendent of Jail, the Islamabad police have registered a case under Section 22-B of the NDPS Act and Section 42 of the Prisons Act against the duo.
