Four school children hurt in road accident

Four school children of a local public school were injured on the Sarhali road when the e-rickshaw in which they were riding was hit by a speeding car here on Tuesday.

A team of the Sarak Surkhia Force (SSF) led by ASI Surinder Singh reached the spot and took the injured children to the local Civil Hospital. ASI Surinder Singh said the driver of the car was under the influence of drugs and rammed his car into the e-rickshaw as a result of which the rickshaw turned turtle.

He said the injured children have been identified as Jaspreet Kaur, Shawarjit Singh, Lucki and Navpreet Singh. The children were discharged after first-aid treatment. The city police have initiated further proceedings.
