Flower cultivation training for girls in self-help groups
The district administration has started training under its exclusive project to encourage self-help groups of girls regarding flower cultivation. The training was started today at the District Administrative Complex as a joint venture of horticulture and Krishi Science Centre where a large number of girls from self-help groups participated. Giving more information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that this initiative has been started by the administration to make girls skilled under the Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission. He said that girls can also start their work by taking training in flower cultivation and by coming in the category of skilled workers, their income will increase further.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration will also provide certificates to these girls after the completion of their training. The Deputy Commissioner also said that the training by self-help groups will help girls become self-reliant and also increase their income by cultivating flowers at their own level.
