A large number of farmers and labourers under the banner of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, (KMSC) Punjab, left for the Shambhu border from different villages of the district on Wednesday. Sukhwinder Singh Sabhra, state president of the KMSC, said of the total 16 zones of the district, workers of the eight zones gathered at Goindwal Sahib and left for Shambhu.

Sabhra condemned the state government and the Centre for not implementing the accepted demands. He said there was great enthusiasm among the farmers and the labourers to take part in the morcha against the Union Government.

He said the protesting organisations have made all the preparations to fight for their rights for the next five years. Workers of the KMSC left from Gohalwar, Gandiwind, Bhikhiwind , Khadoor Sahib, Patti and others zones.

He warned the Punjab Government against installing chip meters on the electric meters and said if officials came to install chip meters, they would be gheraoed by the farmers and the labourers. The government was making arrangements to hand over power supply and distribution to the corporate sector, but people would not let it to be implemented.
