A large number of club members, along with youngsters, took part in a public awareness rally organised by the Rotary Club Amritsar West on the theme “Save Environment” at the historic Ram Bagh on Sunday.

Club president Dr Rajesh Kapila, a famous orthopaedist, in his address, spoke about the various causes of environmental pollution like burning of domestic waste, plastics, stubble burning, toxic emission from industry, vehicles, AC and many other electronic appliances. He stressed upon taking remedial steps at all levels to save planet earth before it gets wiped out by pollution.

Dr PS Grover, District Governor, Rotary 3070, stressed upon the need for taking urgent measures at the global level to check global warming and climate change. Dr Jaspreet Grover, Neeru Issar, Dr Naresh Grover, Dr Sandeep Aggarwal, Jyoti Bhatia and Sachin Arora also talked about environmental pollution. Pamphlets were distributed among the general public on how to take care of environment.

Nukkad Nataks were organised by the youth to create awareness among the general public. Other club members who participated in the awareness campaign were Aman Sharma, Sunny Seth, Rishab Kapoor, Sanjay Sanan and Hardeep Singh.
