Diocesan council meet from October 28

Aim to spread peace in region, says Bishop

To consider ways and means of promulgating peace in the region through its outreach programmes, the Diocese of Amritsar (DoA), Church of North India, is organising its Ordinary Diocesan Council from October 28 to November 1.

The five-day event would be attended by diocesan functionaries from neighbouring states, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr Paul Swarup, Bishop, Diocese of Delhi, CNI, is also expected to participate along with renowned gospel singer Vijay Benedict.

Dr PK Samantaroy, Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar, said the aim of the Ordinary Diocesan Conference was to prepare an action plan for the future of the diocese and spread peace in the region.

“The diocese is committed to continuing its efforts towards promoting peace in the region besides contributing towards the cause of nation-building through its academic, health, interfaith and social outreach initiatives in the years to come,” said Bishop Samantaroy.
