Ashok Vatika Public School proudly celebrated the remarkable achievement of its cricket academy, whose players emerged victorious in a match against Kot Khalsa Academy. The team chased a target of 139 runs in just 17 overs (out of 30). Simarpreet Singh from Grade 8 was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ title for his outstanding performance, scoring 53 runs in just 32 balls. Manmeet Singh, also from Grade 8, earned the ‘Best Bowler’ trophy for delivering six maiden overs and contributing 35 runs in 20 balls. The school gave the team a warm welcome and applauded their success. Principal Anchal Mahajan, along with faculty members, commended the players and encouraged all students to actively participate in sports for their overall development.

Kala museum hosts art competition

The KAUSA Trust organised an “On the Spot Painting Competition” at the KT Kala Museum on Lawrence Road Extension, Amritsar. Over 250 students from 25 schools participated, divided into five groups based on grade levels. Younger participants painted freely, while older students demonstrated their creativity and skill with more detailed works. The jury, including Kanchan Arora, Manju Kumar, Atul Mattu, Radhika Sharma and Brajesh Jolly, selected the best pieces after careful deliberation. Dr KR Tuli welcomed the participants and guests, emphasising the museum’s dedication to promoting art in the region. During the award ceremony, Secretary Rajesh Raina and Nisha Ghai presented medals and certificates to the winners, encouraging continued artistic pursuits.

School organises religious trip

Sant Singh Sukha Singh Khalsa Senior Secondary School in Amritsar took 40 students on a spiritual trip to Bir Sahib Dhan Dhan Baba Buddha Sahib. Accompanied by teachers Dilbagh Singh, Kuldeep Kaur and Principal Dr Gurratan Singh, the students paid homage and prayed for the school’s prosperity. The trip was particularly enlightening for non-Sikh students, who learned about the cultural and religious significance of the site. Taranjit Singh, Principal of Bir Baba Buddha Sahib Public School, welcomed the group and shared the history of the sacred place, enriching the students’ understanding of its heritage.

4th branch of Podar school in city
