Amritsar: On the second day of the ongoing festival of science at Khalsa College, a large number of students from schools and colleges participated in a variety of engaging, hands-on science activities designed to ignite passion for exploration and learning. A thought-provoking lecture on 'The creation of the universe' was delivered by Prof Suman B Beri, a physicist from Panjab University, Chandigarh. The session captivated the audience, offering a glimpse into the profound mysteries of the cosmos. Students showcased their creativity and scientific knowledge through a quiz competition and an exhibition of innovative models focused on science and environmental themes. The highlight of the day was an exhilarating workshop on rocket making, where school students collaborated in groups to learn the intricate art of building model rockets. The excitement reached its peak during the rocket launch activity, supervised by Akash Ekka, a former ISRO scientist.

Best teacher award

Amritsar: Preeti Bala, a mathematics teacher of Ashok Vatika Public School, was awarded the ‘Best Teacher Award’ by FAP. FAP is an organisation that honours the teachers for their qualitative services in the field of education, sports and culture. The event was held at Chandigarh University recently.

CBSE science exhibition

Amritsar: Students of Partap World School, Pathankot, showcased their exceptional talent and innovative ideas at the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition-2024 held in Jammu. The prestigious event witnessed participation from 26 schools across the region, with Partap World School making a mark through two impactful projects under the theme of waste management. The school's junior wing team presented a project on sustainable village, emphasising eco-friendly practices to create self-sustaining communities. The innovative project highlighted solutions for energy conservation, renewable resources and sustainable agriculture.
