Bhavans SL Public School organised Prize distribution ceremony for Bhavans P D Kumar Memorial Gyandeep School Shivala Bhaiyan, Bhavans RL Mittal Memorial School, Islamabad and Bhavans Gandhi Institute of Computer, Bhavans Muskan School and Bhavans Saksham celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on Bhavan's premises. DC Sakshi Sawhney, Brijesh Kumar Yadav, Circle Head Master, PNB-Amritsar, and Anil Dawra, Deputy Circle Head, PNB-Amritsar, graced the occasion with their presence. Bhavans Gandhi Institute of Computer provides free modern computer education to the students. Bhavans Muskan School provides education to autistic students and Bhavans Saksham provides special attention to the persons with disability.

Mahatma Gandhi remembered

Children of EuroKids Pre-school celebrated the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi with enthusiasm. They organised a variety of activities, including storytelling sessions, role plays, and art competitions, along with the craftwork of Charkha that helped the children grasp the principles of non-violence, peace, and truth. Under the leadership of the principal, Kirti Matta, the school is committed to creating an environment of learning where children grow with academic skills and also a deep understanding of moral values. The principal said, “Our approach ensures that children are introduced to India’s rich heritage and the significance of Gandhiji’s ideals from an early age.”

‘Run for DAV’ organised

“Run for DAV” was organised on October 2 as a part of the DAV sports activities. The event was organised jointly by DAV International School, DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, and Police DAV Public School. Students, teachers, and other individuals were involved in this mega event. The schools were given the options of conducting 10 km, 5 km, 2 km, or 21 km runs as per their convenience. Starting from Trilium Mall, passing through Ratan Singh Chowk, Income Tax Chowk, and Mall Road, this run of 5 km culminated at Company Bagh. A total of 330 students and 105 teachers, comprising 152 students and 54 teachers of DAV International School, 77 students and 25 teachers of DAV Public School, and 100 students and six teachers of Police DAV Public School, participated in the event.

College wins youth fest

Swatantranand Memorial College, Dinanagar, bagged the Overall Championship Trophy (A-Division) for the fourth time in Zonal Youth Festival (B-Zone) held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Principal Dr RK Tuli was honoured to receive the Championship Trophy from Professor Dr Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Shiv Darshan Singh Sandhu, ACP, Amritsar (West) and Dr Amandeep Singh, Director-cum-Incharge, Youth Welfare Department. The college set a spectacular feat by winning positions in 26 events such as group shabad/ bhajan, group song Indian, folk orchestra, classical instrument, installation, classical music, solo, poster-making contest, costumes parade, mimicry, western vocal, skit, one-act play, vaar singing, western group song, quiz and western instrument. Principal Dr RK Tuli congratulated all the participants and their mentors for such legendary glory.

Workshop on Solid Waste Mgmt

The Eco Club at Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) collaborated with the Zoological Society of the PG Department of Zoology to organise a ‘Hands-on Training Workshop on Vermicomposting and Solid Waste Management’. The workshop was organised under the ‘Environment Education Program’ by the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change and the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh. The workshop was organised to provide hands-on training in vermicomposting procedures to the students and highlight its importance for solid waste management to keep the environment clean and green. About 150 students of BSc (Medical), MSc (Zoology), and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology participated in this workshop.

Annual Ardas Diwas

Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET), Ranjit Avenue, celebrated its annual Ardas Diwas. The sacred ceremony was organised to mark the commencement of the new academic session, invoking divine blessings for the institution, its students, and faculty members. The event began with the soulful recitation of the Sukhmani Sahib Path. Addressing the gathering, the director, Dr Manju Bala, emphasised the importance of seeking divine blessings at the beginning of a new journey.
