The Dinero Finance Club of University Business School of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) organised FINANZA-2024, an inter-department Finance Fest in association with Career Launcher and Black Swan Stock Market Academy. Dr Pavleen Soni, Head of the UBS Department, informed that the event was hosted in line with the World Investor Week celebrations. FINANZA-2024 was a dynamic event with a range of competitions catering to diverse interests in finance. The five events — Ace the Case, Finbola, Money Feud, Clash of Finance and Wealth Art— were uniquely structured to test different aspects of financial knowledge, from creative thinking to financial literacy and financial strategy. The events were hosted in a collaborative and interactive format, encouraging teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving skills among participants. The event attracted a diverse group of participants of more than 200 students who were awarded cash prizes, trophies, certificates and gifts.

Prakash Utsav of Guru Ramdas

To mark the birth anniversary of the fourth Sikh Guru, Sri Ram Das, Shri Ram Ashram Public School celebrated his ‘Prakash Utsav’. The students of Grade IV presented a special assembly. They performed a skit depicting significant events from the life of Guru Ram Das, such as his service to the community and his role in spreading Sikhism. The skit highlighted key moments like the founding of Amritsar and his humility despite being a spiritual leader. The students also shared the teachings of the Guru and narrated significant anecdotes from his life, spreading the divine message of equality and compassion among all human beings. Principal Dr Vinodita Sankhyan remarked that the teachings of Guru Ram Das inspire us to lead a life of simplicity, kindness and service to humanity.

Bhavan’s boys yoga team

The Punjab School Education Board organised a competition for the boys yoga team at Bhawan’s SL Public School. Punjab schools participated in the district-level competition in which the students of Bhavan School won laurels. In the Under-14 team, Aarush, Karthik, Krishi V, Kavya of Class 7 and Sanchit and Aneesh of Class 6, got the first position. The Under-17 team comprising Aarush and Udayan of Class 9, Rudransh of Class 8, Divyansh, Vivek and Sanyam of Class 10 got the first place. In the Under-19 team, Dhruv of Class 10, Mayank and Navjot, Keshav of Class 11, Kaustubha and Hardik of Class 12 secured the first position. In the Under-14 team, Sanchit won the gold medal and Kavya won the bronze (individual). Rudransh won gold in the Under-17 individual category. Sanyam won silver medal (individual), Vivek won bronze medal (individual) and Udayan won bronze. Hardik won a gold medal (individual), Kaustubha won a silver medal in the Under-19 team (individual) and Navjot won bronze medal (individual).

Logo designing competition at KCA

The Commerce Society of PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) organised a logo designing competition. The event was planned and executed under the supervision of Principal Dr Mehal Singh, Dr AK Kahlon and Dr Deepak Devgan. Around 50 students from the department participated in the competition. Dr Mehal Singh highlighted that the competition aims to showcase the talent, ideas and knowledge of participants while fostering a spirit of healthy competition and community engagement. Dr Kahlon said that the event was an excellent platform for students, enthusiasts and professionals alike to present their ideas, research, projects or innovations. Dr Devgan addressed the participants and said that the basic purpose of organising the competition is to inculcate and boost the talent of youth, develop creativity and encourage self-learning among the students.
