The Planning Forum of DAV College, Amritsar, celebrated Teacher's Day in a unique style by distributing hand-made bookmarks to all the faculty members. All the students of Economics Department prepared beautiful bookmarks under the guidance of their mentor Dr Ritu Arora. Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta said that teaching is a profession that teaches all other professions. This day is celebrated in commemoration of Dr S. Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer in education, a well-known diplomat, scholar and above all a teacher. He added in his speech that a good teacher is a pillar in the life of students. He motivated the students to become a good person and a good teacher. He emphasised on devotion, determination and dedication of a teacher for the profession. Dr Kamal Kishor, Head of Economics Department, expressed his views on Teacher's Day and advised the young budding students to move with the changing times and adapt to changes in teaching techniques too.

Special assembly at Bhavans

Amritsar: A special morning assembly was organised on the occasion of Teacher's Day at Bhavans SL Public School, Shivala Road, Amritsar, to honour and appreciate the tireless efforts of the teachers. The students warmly welcomed Director Anita Bhalla and Principal Sonia Sehdev by presenting a bouquet of flowers to them. The students presented a series of captivating performances including songs, dances and role play showcasing their talent and gratitude towards them. Principal Dr Anita Bhalla addressed the students about the importance of establishing a cordial relationship with the teachers and being in discipline and highlighted that the teacher is the creator of the future of the students.

420th Prakash Purb

Amritsar: Khalsa College Governing Council celebrated the 420th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib on Thursday at Gurdwara Sahib located in Khalsa College campus with enthusiasm and devotion. Secretary of the Council Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina congratulated people on this holy day. The students of Khalsa College of Law connected the congregation with the Guru's feet through the chanting of Rasabhinne Kirtan. After this, Sikh history scholar and principal of Khalsa College Senior Secondary School Dr Inderjit Singh Gogoani informed the Sangat in detail about 'Sri Guru Granth Sahib' and shed light on the teachings of the Gurus.

Shri Ram Ashram Public School

Amritsar: Shri Ram Ashram Public School, the Mall, Amritsar, organised a grand Teacher's Day function in the school auditorium under the aegis of Shri Ram Educational Society. The staff of both the schools (Shri Ram Ashram Public School and Shri Ram Ashram Senior Secondary School) attended the celebrations with zeal and enthusiasm. Dr Vikram Chadha (former professor and Head, Punjab School of Economics, Amritsar) was welcomed by Dr Vinodita Sankhyan, the principal of the host school. Master Sunder Singh Award of Excellence was conferred on the most proficient teachers of both the schools who have completed their 15 years of service and walked an extra mile for the school.

GNDU celebrates Teacher's Day

Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University celebrated Teacher's Day with enthusiasm and reverence, honouring the dedication and commitment of its educators. The various departments including Punjab School of Economics and the Department of History organised special events and activities to express gratitude towards the teaching staff. Students and faculty members came together to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow. The celebrations included the screening of a documentary on influential teachers of India who have made a mark on the minds of young learners.
