Campus notes: DAV celebrates Diwali for the Blind
Amritsar: The National Service Scheme (NSS) units of DAV College, Amritsar, organised a heart-warming Diwali celebration at the Institute for the Blind, Lohgarh Gate in Amritsar, to foster a spirit of joy, inclusivity and community engagement. The event, held in collaboration with the institute, brought together NSS volunteers, students, faculty and community members to celebrate the festival of lights with enthusiasm and solidarity. Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta informed that the celebration featured cultural activities like singing and dancing. They were designed to engage and empower visually impaired students. Representatives from the NSS units expressed their gratitude to the institute for the opportunity to celebrate with its students and highlighted the value of creating a more inclusive society.
Balchiwind school holds Green Diwali
Amritsar: Green Diwali was celebrated by the students of Government Senior Secondary School, Balchiwind. Principal of the school, Kanwaljit Kaur, said that competitions were held for students regarding rangoli, chart-making and crafts from waste material etc. Among these competitions, students of Class 12 stood first and Class 10 second in the competition. Similarly, in the competitions for Class 6-8, the students of seventh grade stood first and the sixth grade stood second. The students gave a message to the people to celebrate Green Diwali. On the same day, the artists of Nanak Singh Gurbakhsh Singh Preetlari Foundation performed the drama ‘Drashkar Teri Ihti Kahani’.
Institutions of Khalsa college Council
Amritsar: Khalsa College of Engineering & Technology and Khalsa College International Public School, Ranjit Avenue, under the Khalsa College Governing Council, celebrated Diwali. To create awareness about Green Diwali in the said institutions, the faculty, staff and students came together and illuminated the campus with traditional earthen diyas. Director Dr Manju Bala expressed concern over the seriousness of rising air pollution, which has become a major health issue. She said that the initiative of celebrating Green Diwali is aimed at creating awareness among students about the importance of a healthy environment. She motivated everyone to work responsibly and said that protecting the environment is the common duty of all. She presented certificates to the winners of competitions to support creativity and eco-friendly Diwali. Foundation Day at Revel Dale Public
Amritsar:Members of the school managing committee, principal, core team members and the administrative staff of Revel Dale School, Attari, celebrated the school’s Foundation Day by organising Japji Saheb path. Principal Rajiv Arora responded to the questions raised by the members of core team of the school. “Revel Dale Public School was established in 2010 with the sole motive of imparting quality education to the children who often remain deprived of that. The CISCE curriculum is being followed in letter and spirit and that is why students of the school are doing so well in academic and co-academic spheres,” said Arora. The Foundation Day commemoration strengthened everyone’s resolve to do better for the growth and development of the students.
