Amritsar: Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar, organized its Annual Function 'Cocomelon Funland' for the Grade Nursery and LKG. The Chief Guest, Dr Simarpreet Sandhu, Chairman, FICCI-FLO, Amritsar, graced the occasion with her presence. The programme began on a spiritual and a vibrant note as the young students recited 'Shlokas'. A beautifully choreographed dance was a tribute to the deity of wisdom and prosperity, setting the tone for the event, filled with joy and creativity. The students performed gracefully, captivating the audience with their synchronised movements. The students brought 'Cocomelon Funland' to life with captivating dances, heartwarming skits and melodious songs, all focusing on the importance of family and quality time.

Disability Awareness Week

Amritsar: The message of inclusivity was highlighted bold and clear when the students of Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar commemorated the Disability Awareness Week, during the first week of December 2024, through an array of activities aptly termed as “Walking into their shoes”. Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Spring Dale Educational Society shared that spirited volunteers involving the Student Council Members, Children With Special Needs (CWSN), their buddies and scribes, along with the enthusiastic staff members came to the fore during the “Disability Awareness Week, organised on the school premises and activities areas. Students shouted-out slogans while holding placards with a message loud and clear to spread awareness on disability. Holding hands, or ferrying them in their wheelchairs, student-buddies led their fellows with special needs throughout the premises. Rajiv Kumar Sharma said that the school has been proactive in the advocacy of inclusive education in the region and such community awareness activities definitely create a sense of responsibility and empathy in the common people to help understand the concerns of the CWSN.

DPS junior wing annual event

Delhi Public School (Junior Wing) held its annual function “Bhoondho Ki Pukar” on November 30. Students through their magical and captivating performances of dance and singing conveyed a powerful message for water conservation. The theme aligns to the commitment of Delhi Public School, Amritsar, towards sustainable development and follows one of the mission of the United Nations. Ankur Arora welcomed the dignitaries, reiterated the school commitment and hoped that the event will inspire people to act ensuring water conservation.

Reunion held at KCA

Amritsar: The old students of 1985-passout batch organised a reunion event in Department of Agriculture at Khalsa College, Amritsar (KCA). The co-ordinator of the event, Dr Surinder Singh Kukal, former professor and Dean at Punjab Agricultural University, said the event aimed at helping the farming community. In this direction, the alumni created a volunteer group 'Voluntary Initiative for Regenerative Agriculture' Group (VIRA-G). The Chief Guest Dr Mehal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Khalsa University, Amritsar, appreciated the efforts of 1985-alumni for their objectives of serving for the welfare of farming community. The students interacted with old students regarding agricultural issues being faced by the state of Punjab. On the occasion, a technical session was also organized where the old students shared their experiences regarding the issues being faced by the farming community of Punjab state and find out the best ways and means to solve these issues. Dr Kukal further said that the VIRA-G shall soon identify and adopt a village to showcase a model of integrated agriculture involving integrated water, nutrient and pest management so as to minimize the use of inputs like water, inorganic fertilizers and pesticides for better environmental conditions.

Motivational session at Bhavan’s

Amritsar: Bhavans S L Public School, Amritsar, Punjab, conducted a motivational talk by Swami Chidrupananda ( Head Chinmaya Mission, Noida) on topic How to face Examination without Fear for the students of grade X, Xl and Xll on 9th December, 2024. The session commenced with the graceful floral presentation to him by students of Bhavans followed by pious lamp lightning. He addressed the audience with a Tagline “Don't search for jobs, let jobs search for you”.He stressed upon the importance of career for a student with realistic examples of life. He said that life is always “study and exam”. He said that exam means self willed and self evaluation process. He motivated the students to study for study's sake. He even shared mindful planners with students to keep a track of their progress. He wrapped up his talk by showing two valuable videos on the importance of being the best version of yourself and having a right attitude in life. The talk concluded with vote of thanks by Chairperson Avinash Magindru followed by singing of national Anthem.
