Amritsar South MLA Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar inaugurated the construction work of a new block to be built at a cost of Rs 1 crore at the Government Girls High School in Bhagtanwala. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said new classrooms would be built, libraries would be upgraded and computer facilities would be provided in all government schools of the district.

Dr Nijjar said after construction of the new block at Bhagtanwala school children would get a lot of facilities. “The main objective is to provide good education to children. Eight Schools of Eminence are functional in the district where apart from basic infrastructure, children are provided playgrounds facilities and computerised education. Sports competitions are also held in schools,” he said.

Dr Nijjar said, “Our government has sent teachers abroad for training with an aim to equip them to provide quality education to schoolchildren.” He said, “Schools will get funds for building playgrounds and smart classes.
