Beopar mandal discusses issues related to trade, industry
Vital issues, including GST law, Income Tax Department policies, deteriorating law and order in the state concerning trade and industry, were discussed during the annual general meeting of the Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) here on Sunday.
Taking up the matters which pertained to protection of the rights of traders and industrialists, they expressed deep concern over the poor economic condition of the state and problems related to trade.
On difficulties being faced in GST law, traders clearly stated it became extremely difficult for traders to follow the current GST law as its complex rules and constantly changing policies are causing huge problems. The Mandal appealed to the government to review it and implement simple and clear rules.
Assembled members of the Mandal demanded abolition of Section 43 BH of Income Tax Act, which they feel an excessive burden for traders. Under this section, they are to bear additional responsibility regarding their tax payment and requested the government to abolish it so that traders can get relief.
They expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, they said increasing crime and administrative non-cooperation posed a challenge for them.
