Municipal Corporation Commissioner Kumar Saurabh Raj received 24 complaints during the weekly public meeting organised at the MC office here today.

Most of the complaints were regarding the Municipal Town Planning (MTP) Department. There were eight complaints of the MTP Department, four related to Joint Commissioner’s office, four for the civil wing, six for the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) cell and one each related to the Estate Department and Deputy Comptroller office.

In a complaint against the coloniser, who developed colony on the GT Road bypass, the complainants stated that the MTP Department issued a completion certificate to the coloniser, but he had not completed the colony work so far. “How was the completion certificate issued to him?” they asked.

Another complainant said many a times he had complained about the illegal constructions in the walled city, but his complaints were not resolved. The Commissioner directed Municipal Town Planner Meharban Singh to make a list of all their complaints and resolve them.

A complaint was also made about the under-construction building near Farid Chowk. The Corporation Commissioner directed the MTP to resolve the complaints within seven days.

Some complaints were regarding sewer blockage for the O&M cell. A complaint came from the civil wing that a contractor has not completed the re-carpeting of the Tarn Taran road.

The corporation Commissioner directed the SE, Civil, to complete the work and asked the DCFA not to pay the contractor till the construction is completed.

Saurabh Raj instructed the corporation officers to dispose of all complaints received from the public within the specific time period.

MC Commissioner honoured

A complainant honoured Commissioner Kumar Saurabh Raj here on Friday. The complainant said illegal construction was going on in Baba Deep Singh Colony for a long time, but no action was taken despite repeated complaints by him. The building was sealed by the MTP Department as soon as the complaint was lodged in the public meeting last Thursday.
