Amritsar MC offices remain open on weekend for tax collection

The municipal corporation has collected Rs 40 lakh by way of property tax on Saturday. The Citizen Facilitation Centre (CFC) at MC head office in Ranjit Avenue and zonal office were open for tax collection on weekend.

The municipal corporation has collected Rs 40 lakh by way of property tax on Saturday. The Citizen Facilitation Centre (CFC) at MC head office in Ranjit Avenue and zonal office were open for tax collection on weekend.

A total of 324 people filed property tax return (PTR) on Saturday. The CFC at Ranjit Avenue head office remained open for tax collection on Sunday as well. People are also submitting tax online. In this financial year, from April 1, 2024 till today, the MC has collected around Rs 12 crore as property tax. Assistant MC Commissioner Vishal Wadhawan stated that 10 per cent rebate is being given to those who pay property tax till September 30.

He said that more than Rs 27 crore in property tax will be collected by September 30.
