The district has taken a lead in providing door-to-door government services in the state, claimed district administration officials during a meeting today.

District Technical Coordinator Prince Singh said citizens could access 43 government services from the comfort of their homes by dialing No. 1076 or visiting the online service portal.

He said out of 8,001 applications, 6,496 received services on time, with only 15 cases not meeting the specified timeline. The district boasts a remarkable record of responding to citizens’ requests immediately, with no pending cases, he said.

He said team members visited citizens’ homes, collected necessary documents, filled out forms, and provided the requested services. This initiative had benefited 6,511 people in Amritsar district so far, he added.

Additional Deputy Commissioners Jyoti Bala and Amit Sareen, Assistant Commissioner Gursimranjeet Kaur and other officials attended the meeting on door-to-door services, chaired by the DC.

During the meeting Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney also felicitated three employees, from different departments, with ‘Employee of the Month’ award for their performance.

DC Sawhney congratulated the employees and acknowledged their outstanding performance.

The three employees who were felicitated with the ‘Employee of the Month Award’ were superintendent Ashneel Kumar, District Technical Coordinator Prince Singh and Legal Cell clerk Neha.

While reviewing the progress reports of various departments Sawhney praised the performance of these employees as, she said, they completed their work not only during their duty hours but also burnt the midnight oil. She urged all officials to take inspiration from these employees.

The DC also said that in the future those employees who work on online services would be awarded for their performance.
