317 girl cadets take part in NCC Day camp held at Ramtirath
The 317 NCC girl cadets and staff of 1 Punjab Girls Battalion celebrated NCC Day during the Combined Annual Training Camp at ITI, Ramtirath. The event was attended by all the staff and cadets of the battalion.
The programme commenced by highlighting the history and important achievements of the organisation, wherein the background of the raising of NCC, ongoing activities across the country and achievements and contribution made by all proud alumni across the country were highlighted.
All cadets, including the staff, took a pledge and renewed their commitment towards the ethos of selfless service to the nation.
The event was followed by a cleanliness drive and an awareness rally at Ramtirath. Cadets highlighted important aspects of ‘Reduce-Reuse-Recycle’ and ‘Swachta Hi Seva’ during the rally which was witnessed by a large numbers of tourists. The cadets also participated enthusiastically in the poster-making competition wherein winners were declared at the end of the event. A public speaking practice was organised at the end of the day wherein all cadets participated and shared their views with the audience on various topics like ‘Drug Menace’, ‘Clean India – Green India’, ‘Importance of reading habit in our life’, ‘Importance of physical fitness in our life’, ‘My aim in my life’, ‘My Favourite Sport, amongst others.
All cadets got trained and had first-hand experience of an extempore delivery of speech during the event.
Overall, the day ended with a lot of enthusiasm and with a renewed commitment towards being a responsible citizen of the country by all the cadets.
