In a daring heist, around 30 armed robbers looted dry fruits worth Rs 2 crore from a cold storage facility at Ibban Kalan village on the intervening night of September 3 and 4. The robbers, who arrived in two trucks, held the watchmen at gunpoint and made off with the goods, also taking away CCTV cameras and the DVR.

While the police are still searching for the perpetrators, SSP Charanjit Singh said that the role of an insider cannot be ruled out. The cold storage facility belonged to Happy Arora, who said that goods from over 100 grocery store owners were stored there.

The police have registered a case and are scanning CCTV cameras in the area to find clues about the robbers. Further investigation is underway to identify and arrest the suspects.
