100% job placement of AGC students
Amritsar: The Department of Hotel Management of Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) has completed its job placement process for 2022 pass out students. All 58 students have been placed in renowned hotels and restaurant chains such as Taj Group, ITC, Hilton, Sarovar Group, Radisson Hotels, Orchid Group etc. Companies have offered lucrative positions and handsome packages in all domains such as food production, food and beverage service, housekeeping and front office. Apart from job placements, students have also got a chance for international internship. Principal Dr Banga said AGC is not just preparing its students for hotel industry but also other industries such as cruises and airlines among others.
MBA, PhD batches at IIM-Amritsar
The Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar, successfully inaugurated the eighth batch of their flagship MBA programme, batch of MBA-Business Analytics programme, MBA-Human Resources programme, and PhD programme. CL Educate Ltd founder and chairman Satya Narayanan R was the chief guest at the event. Dr Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director, IIM-Amritsar; Dr Mahima Gupta, dean, academics; Dr Pavneet Singh, chairperson, admissions; and Dr Pankaj Gupta, chairperson, MBA; were also present. Taking pride in being ranked fifth among IIMs in terms of the number of applications received, he urged the students to collaborate, compete, and interact with like-minded people, and said the couple of years spent by a student at IIM-Amritsar define his journey. He also formally handed over the batch to the MBA chairperson.
Faculty Development Programme
A faculty development programme (FDP) — “Technological advancement in education, management and law” — was organised by the school of education in collaboration with Ideal Institute of Management and Technology, Delhi, under the scheme Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching. The programme is an endeavour toward fostering the knowledge and professional skills of faculty members to improve their performance in education, research, and administration. The programme received an overwhelming response with over 70 participants from various reputed universities across India. Prof (Dr) Deepa Sikand Kauts, dean, Faculty of Education, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), welcomed the chief guest, speakers and participants while sharing the objective behind organising the FDP. Prof Santosh Panda, director, Staff Training and Research Institute of Distance Education, IGNOU, New Delhi, was the resource person. Prof Kauts also referred to the National Education Policy which has listed essential criteria which must be adhered to and followed. Prof (Dr) Santosh Panda, delivered the inaugural address and congratulated the institutes for choosing a pertinent topic.
Rangoli event dedicated to martyr
Tarn Taran: Tributes were paid to martyr Kulwant Singh, hero of the 1965 Indo-Pak war, at Guru Amar Dass Adarsh Institute, Goindwal Sahib, on Thursday. A rangoli competition dedicated to the martyr was organised on the occasion. Institution Director Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa praised the hard work done by the students and appealed to the students to remember the martyred warriors who sacrificed their lives for the country. “We are safe in our homes because of them,” he added.
