Amritsar school lifts biz quiz trophy
Lawrence School, Sanawar, hosted the 17th Kirloskar Inter-School Business Quiz, which concluded yesterday. Spring Dale Senior Secondary School, Amritsar, lifted the trophy; Vasant Valley School, New Delhi, bagged the first runners-up position; and the host school was the second runners-up in the competition.
Sponsored by Geetanjali Kirloskar, the quiz aims at creating awareness among students about latest developments in the corporate world and preparing business leaders of tomorrow.
Twelve schools from across the country participated in the quiz organised by the school’s faculty of Commerce. The participants comprised Pinegrove (Subathu), Spring Dale (Amritsar), Vasant Valley (New Delhi), Learning Paths (Mohali), DAV (Lakkar Bazar, Shimla), Army Public School (Dagshai), Auckland House (Shimla), Durga Public School (Solan), Pinegrove (Dharampur), The Rajkumar College (Rajkot), Yadavindra Public School (Patiala) and Lawrence School (Sanawar).
Gautam Bose, a renowned quizmaster and the founder of Grey Cells, was the quiz master for the event. He shortlisted six schools on the basis of 20 questions. Based on the scores in the preliminary round, Pinegrove (Subathu), Lawrence School, Army Public School, Spring Dale Senior Secondary School, Learning Paths, and Vasant Valley entered the finals.
Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma felicitated the winners. He said, “No team is a winner or loser. In fact, everyone is a learner as we all have learnt so many new and interesting facts about the business world.” Headmaster Himmat Singh Dhillon congratulated the participants.
