Amritsar police arrest 2 men for firing at bouncer, security firm owner in Chandigarh
Amritsar Police have arrested two men involved in firing at Gurjit Singh, a bouncer, and a security firm owner in Chandigarh on Monday night.
Both the accused were associates of gangster Goldy Brar.
They were identified as Harshdeep Singh and Gursharanpreet Singh of Dhilwan Khurd village in Faridkot.
The police recovered four countrymade pistols from them.
Police Commissioner Ranjit Singh Dhillon said the accused also did recee of a man in Mohali from whom Brar was demanding extortion.
"The police got the information that the accused along with his accomplices had formed a gang for procuring weapons from other states and selling them to criminals. They were in Jahajgarh area and planning a crime," he said.
Following this, teams of CIA, A Division, B Division and Cantonment police stations nabbed the two, he added.
Gursharanpreet had a murder and arms act case registered against him in Faridkot and he came out on bail in October last year.
