Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday criticised National Conference (NC) and Congress claiming that the parties had opposed the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

Addressing a rally in Udhampur, Shah alleged that that the NC and the Congress want to release stone pelters and terrorists from jails after the formation of the government. He said the BJP would never let this happen. After the formation of the government in J&K, the BJP would bury terrorism deep inside earth.

“These people (NC and Congress) opposed the death sentence of Afzal Guru who attacked the Parliament. Omar Abdullah says Afzal Guru should not have been hanged. Abdullah ‘Sahib’, you can keep feeding biryani to terrorists, but whoever spreads terror will get the answer at the gallows,” said Shah.

He addressed a series of rallies in Udhampur and Kathua district where the third phase of polls will be held on October 1.

Promising a terror-free J&K under the BJP regime, Shah alleged that the NC-Congress alliance would impose Pakistan’s agenda, if it comes to power. Attacking NC chief Farooq Abdullah, Shah said those days were over when one could go to the Lok Sabha by getting only 8,000 votes.

Shah claimed that the BJP-led Central Government had been working tirelessly to empower SCs, STs, Dalits, poor and women since 2014, “but the Congress and Abdullahs never cared for them”.

Shah said: “Rahul Gandhi has just gave a statement that outsiders are ruling J&K. He was referring to the LG. Rahul ‘baba’, those who write speeches for you, do not tell you the truth. The Congress imposed the President’s rule in J&K most of the time”.

He said: “Omar says if the Congress and the NC come to power, they will restore statehood to J&K. Why are you lying? When I presented the Bill to repeal Article 370 in the House, I had clearly stated that we will restore the statehood after the elections”.

Gallows for those who spread terror
