Prem Singh Bhangu, president of the All-India Kisan Federation and leader of Samyukt Kisan Morcha, said preparations had been made for Bharat Bandh on March 26. As per the reports received, the “bandh” will be observed in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra, apart from Punjab and Haryana.

Preparations were in full-swing for the “bandh” in these states, said Bhangu.

The agitation, which started from Punjab, had spread all over India and now it had become a people’s movement, he said. Farmers were determined to continue their struggle until the three anti-farmers’ laws were repealed, he said.

‘Bharat Bandh’: Rail, road transport likely to be affected in parts of country


On March 26, road and rail traffic, as well as the markets would remain closed. Even the government offices would observe complete “bandh” from 9 am to 6 pm, but essential services would be exempted, he said. Bhangu said there was a widespread resentment among people against the apathetic attitude of the Union Government. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha has appealed to all sections of society to participate in the “bandh” with full strength.

Abohar Traders extend support

Beopar Mandal, Arhtiya Association, District Halwai and Bakery Association and Dodhi (milk vendors) Union in Abohar have extended support to the Bharat Bandh call. — TNS
