New Delhi, March 14
The facility of connected classroom and smart (digital) board will be extended to all government schools across the national capital. The move is a part of the steps to be taken by the Education Department to digitise its schools.
“The schools will have one connected classroom and five smart board room each. The teachers will also be given tablets to ensure smooth functioning of the mechanism,” said a government official associated with the ministry.
Under the idea of connected classroom, laptops and other devices are made available to students and teachers to help the former understand their textbooks concepts.
Meanwhile, the video-conferencing facility will also be introduced for teachers. The school staff will also mark their attendance on a tablet. The government wants to do away with the paper work in schools.
In a meeting held recently, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had asked the Deputy Directors of Education to ensure that every teacher be provided with tablets. The government also plans to digitise the process of the exam result tabulation and the attendance record. Zero paper attendance will be introduced in the Delhi Government schools from April 1.
