Airport Road to get facelift: MLA
Local MLA Kulwant Singh and Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) Chief Administrator Moonish Kumar yesterday visited IISER lights and CP-67 lights on the Airport Road to explore the scope for improvements on this major road.
The MLA discussed the divider (centre verge), roadside tiles and footpath, slip road improvements besides beautification/greenery with senior officials of GMADA and Municipal Corporation.
“The road from the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport to Kharar flyover, popularly known as Airport Road, will need more improvements in view of increased traffic volume, for which this joint visit with GMADA officials is planned today,” said MLA Kulwant Singh. He said the review was conducted to make travel on the road smooth by removing traffic congestion and bottlenecks.
GMADA Chief Administrator Moonish Kumar said as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the visit was aimed to make the movement on the major road in Mohali smooth and safe. A report will be prepared and further planning will be drawn up, he added.
