Amritsar, August 29

Khalsa College for Women (KCW) and Bengaluru-based organisation Asar Social Impact Advisors Private Limited today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together in the area of clean air. The MoU, signed in the presence of Khalsa College Governing Council secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, states that the KCW will set up a Punjab Air Care Centre for checking air quality and monitoring the changes in specific areas across the city.

Asar is an environment and social advocacy-based technical development organisation which provides research-based solutions in the field of environmental sciences. The Punjab Air Care Centre would conduct a comprehensive survey relating to the prevailing air quality in the holy city and its surrounding areas with the help of students and teachers. “The centre would also create awareness and help in prevention of stubble burning,,” said KCW principal Dr Surinder Kaur.
