Chief Minister Nayab Saini is set to visit Sirsa on Thursday. He will perform the foundation stone-laying ceremony for Sant Sarasai Nath Ji Government Medical College at the Mini Bypass ground. Ahead of his visit, the city administration has swung into action, working tirelessly to ensure cleanliness and repairs along his route.

The Chief Minister is set to arrive in Sirsa by air. In preparation, Municipal Council workers have launched a cleanliness drive from the Air Force base to the Mini Bypass road. The area near the foundation stone site, once littered with garbage and sewage, has undergone a significant transformation.

Previously, the site was surrounded by a dumping ground. To avoid any unpleasant smell during the event, the officials have leveled the garbage with JCB machines, cleared the bushes and initiated the installation of a new sewer line.

The MC workers are also repairing roads and ensuring thorough cleanliness. The Executive Officer (EO) of the MC is personally supervising the efforts to leave no room for complaints. Locals have remarked that the CM’s visit has awakened the administration.

“Wherever the CM’s program is scheduled, the area is being cleaned and every flaw is being fixed. We wish the Chief Minister would inspect the entire city, so all areas receive a much-needed cleanup,” said Narendra Khokhar, a city resident.

Until three days ago, the Mini Bypass was filled with large bushes, garbage and the stench of sewage. The CM’s visit has prompted the authorities to fix these long-standing issues.

The Electricity Department is also making arrangements. Workers are trimming tree branches near electric poles and inspecting wires to prevent any disruptions in power supply during the event.

The residents hope that the sudden attention to the city’s problems would bring lasting improvements, even after the Chief Minister’s visit.

Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma said the CM would also plant saplings to promote environmental conservation. He said all preparations for the ceremony had been completed and that Saini would address the public during the event.
