Agri minister orders strict action against illegal mining in Yamunanagar
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana has directed the district administration to take strict action against individuals involved in illegal mining activities in the Gumthala ghat area of Yamunanagar. During a meeting with local officials at the Mini Secretariat, Rana emphasised that illegal mining would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He issued these instructions following a report detailing ongoing illegal mining in the area.
Rana, the MLA from Radaur constituency, also discussed infrastructure projects and asked officials to expedite the construction of Jathlana road, which is in a deteriorated condition. He inquired about the progress of the Boobka to Amloha road project and insisted on maintaining high-quality standards, instructing officers to test the construction materials used.
Additionally, the minister reviewed the district’s paddy purchase and lifting operations. Deputy Commissioner Capt Manoj Kumar informed Rana that 73.43% of the paddy had been lifted. Rana stressed the need to speed up the process.
The minister also addressed concerns about fertiliser availability, instructing officials to ensure that all cooperative societies have sufficient stocks of DAP and urea fertilisers. In response to the rise in mosquito-borne diseases, he directed municipal and panchayati raj officers to intensify fogging operations across the district.
