Agri Dept inspects stock of fertiliser dealers
Agriculture Department officials today conducted inspections of fertiliser stocks at various stores in Nabha block following complaints of sale interruptions of fertilisers.
“To ensure uninterrupted supply of fertilisers for wheat sowing and other crops during the ongoing rabi season, the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department is regularly inspecting the stocks of dealers. This is being done to prevent hoarding, overpricing and unauthorised sale of other goods with fertilisers,” said Chief Agriculture Officer Jaswinder Singh.
He further stated that Agricultural Officer, Nabha, Jupinder Singh and Agricultural Development Officer Jaspreet Singh conducted inspections of fertiliser stocks at various stores in the Nabha block.
He further mentioned that any fertiliser dealer refusing to provide DAP fertiliser to farmers or selling it above the controlled price would have their licence revoked immediately. “Additionally, legal action under the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 will be enforced against such dealers,” he added.
Chief Agriculture Officer Jaswinder Singh urged farmers to use fertilisers based on the specific needs of the soil. He advised farmers to get their soil tested and use fertilisers accordingly, focusing only on the nutrients required by their soil.
