Agniveer Nikhil Dhadhwal cremated with state honours in Hamirpur village

Agniveer Nikhil Dhadhwal was cremated with Army and state honours here today. A team of Army personnel brought Dhadhwal’s body at his home in Lahlari village in Ward number 11 of Hamirpur town around 2 pm. Locals raised slogans like ‘Nikhil Dhadhwal Amar Rahe’ and ‘Jab tak Suraj Chand Rahenge Nikhil Tera Nam Rahega’.
Indian Army officers, including Brigadier MS Bains, laid a wreath as a tribute to the departed Agniveer. Col Ajay Kumar, Lt Col Varun Gandhi and Capt Sahil Kumar were present during the cremation while Naib Tehsildar Jagdish Chand represented the state government. Dhadhwal, who was reportedly killed in the Akhnoor sector near the Line of Control, was posted in the Tanda area of Jammu and Kashmir. He reportedly died of a bullet injury. Lt Col Varun Gandhi, who accompanied the body, said that he did not have much information about the cause of death of the Agniveer.
