Agnihotri inaugurates 21 irrigation, water supply schemes in Nalagarh

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said that the state government was committed to ensuring adequate irrigation and clean drinking water for every household. He was speaking after inaugurating several water-related projects in the Nalagarh Assembly constituency of Solan district.

Agnihotri said that the government was focusing on strengthening existing schemes and launching new ones to improve water supply in the region. “Revolutionary changes will be visible in the drinking water and irrigation system of Nalagarh in the next three years,” he added.

He inaugurated 21 irrigation and water supply schemes worth Rs 18.26 crore, aimed at facilitating irrigation for 298 hectares in the constituency. Additionally, he inaugurated three drinking water supply schemes built at a cost of Rs 5.20 crore, which would benefit 8,350 residents of 36 villages.

He launched a tubewell-based irrigation scheme constructed at a cost of Rs 5.33 crore that would cater to Bhogpur village, Gharoti bypass and Naggar village of Khillian gram panchayat. He also inaugurated similar schemes in Aduwal, Bagheri Mundanbas, Tikri, Plasara, Kanganwal, Dabhota, Katirdu Mazra, Bagheri Chamlian and Khokhara villages, besides other projects worth Rs 5.73 in Nangal Dhakka, Rampur Harijan Basti, Kulari, Dhana-2, Dhana-1 and Nangal.

Augmented water supply schemes completed at a cost of Rs 2.33 crore and a lift water supply scheme constructed for Aduwal and nearby villages at a cost of Rs 1.53 crore were also inaugurated.
