Age no bar as octogenarian tees off with nine-year-old
While the UT police are groping in the dark in the Sector 26 blast case, the probe so far has revealed that the suspects escaped via the Airport Road in Mohali.
Two low-intensity crude bomb blasts outside Seville, bar and lounge owned by rapper Badhsah; and De’Orra had rocked the Sector 26 are where a number of clubs and restaurants are located.
Footage of CCTV cameras installed at Seville captured two attackers arriving on a motorcycle around 3:15 am. They threw crude bombs containing nails at the entrances of both clubs before fleeing the spot on the bike bearing a fake number.
Police sources said they were tracing the escape route to gather more information about the suspects, who were yet to be identified. After escaping from Chandigarh, they crossed the PCA cricket stadium chowk to reach the Airport Road. The police have obtained the CCTV footage of the suspects speeding on the Airport Road. However, they couldn’t track the suspects beyond the Airport Chowk. The police suspect the assailants fled towards Landra road. The investigation is going on.
Besides the Chandigarh police, their Punjab counterparts are also conducting a parallel probe to identify and nab the assailants.
“The route taken by the assailants is being traced and it could lead us to them,” said a police official.
The police said they were investigating all possible motives, including extortion, although the club owners have not reported any such threats. They are also working on other angles, including enmity of De’Orra owners with someone.
