After nominations, candidates intensify campaigning in Ambala

With the filing of nominations, the candidates of all political parties and the Independent candidates who are testing their fates have intensified their poll preparations and campaigning, in Ambala district.

From slamming the other parties and making promises to resolve local issues, the candidates are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. Besides holding corner meetings, workers meetings and door-to-door campaigns, the candidates are developing personal contacts to strengthen their positions.

BJP Ambala City MLA and candidate Aseem Goel, who is eyeing to retain his seat for the third consecutive time, is running a Jan Sampark Abhiyan in rural areas. While interacting with the people, Aseem tells them to compare the work done by the BJP and the Congress for the welfare of the public.

Aseem says, “The BJP provided jobs on merit, started Ayushman cards to provide health cover to the poor, Happy cards to provide free bus travel upto 1,000 km, took various initiatives to provide old aged pension, BPL cards and other benefits without any recommendations. The Congress leaders make fake promises and spread lies. There is a BJP government at Centre and the people of Haryana should ensure a BJP government in the state too to ensure smooth implementation of welfare schemes.”

Similarly, Naraingarh Congress MLA Shalley Chaudhary, who is eyeing a second term, is also holding a Jan Sampark Abhiyan.

In her addressees, Shalley Chaudhary urges the voters to keep supporting the Congress party and play a role in forming a Congress government in Haryana.

“Over the past 10 years, all sections of society have paid the price of the wrong policies of the BJP government. The time has come to take revenge for the atrocities and oust this government from the state. I have raised the issues of district status to Naraingarh, sugar mills, NDC, and other local problems strongly, and I will get the issues resolved in when the Congress government comes to power”, she says.

Indian National Lok Dal Candidate Onkar Singh, who is testing his fate from the Ambala Cantonment segment, has been raising local issues to grab the voters’ attention.

“The government claims to have spent crores of rupees in the development of Ambala Cantonment but poor roads, waterlogging and defunct lights narrate a different story. I remain among the people and fight for their issues. I have appealed to the people to support me and I will get the issues resolved,” said Onkar Singh.

Meanwhile, Chitra Sarwara, who is contesting as an Independent candidate from the Ambala Cantonment, said, “We have been working hard to unite the people and create a fearless atmosphere in Ambala Cantonment. The roads of Ambala are in a poor state, sewerage systems have collapsed, and colonies get waterlogged after rain. We are confident that the people of Ambala will support us and we will win the election.”
