Admn to rope in residents’ bodies for voter awareness
Gurugram, August 30
To ensure voter turnout in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for October 1, the Gurugram district administration has devised a unique plan involving Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs).
Under the plan, voter awareness activities would be conducted in collaboration with over 1,200 RWAs in the district.
District Election Officer and DC Nishant Kumar Yadav said RWAs played a crucial role in motivating urban voters to participate in elections.
This time, many RWAs would feature the “Wall of Democracy” along with dummies of EVMs, VVPATs and control units, he added.
Three RWAs that do commendable work would be awarded a certificate of appreciation and a cash prize.
