In a proactive effort to educate youth about the dangers of drug abuse, the Nawanshahr administration organised 69 seminars in September as part of a wider campaign to curb the usage of drugs and safeguard young lives.
ADC (General) Rajeev Verma chaired a meeting of the NCORD committee at the District Administrative Complex on Wednesday. Verma highlighted the need for community involvement, asking village sarpanches, ASHA workers and local leaders to discreetly report information about drug peddlers to the police for timely action. He said the district police had registered 93 cases under the NDPS Act in the month of September.
