AAP workers to be given priority during ticket allocation: Aman Arora
Aman Arora, state president of AAP, today announced that the party would prioritise its own workers and volunteers when allocating ticket for the upcoming municipal corporation, council and nagar panchayat elections.
At a meeting with party workers here, Arora, accompanied by working president Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi, stated that applications for the elections would be accepted from December 1.
“While we are not ruling out candidates from other parties, our focus will be on our own workers. We have a strong cadre base across the state. We will assess their performance and public image before finalising the candidates,” Arora said.
Kalsi added that applications would be accepted till December 4 after which local and state-level teams would review the candidates and finalise the list.
BJP worker Ajay Chopra, who had previously contested council elections, today joined AAP.
On state BJP president Sunil Jakhar’s recent statement alleging that paddy farmers had received less than the MSP for their produce, Arora said payments were made directly to their accounts without any deductions. He urged Jakhar to provide details of specific cases if there were any issues.
