Aam Aadmi Party workers today staged a protest against the “poor quality road” laid between Hallo Majra Chowk and Ram Darbar and accused the BJP-led Municipal Corporation of “corruption”.
“Residents of Ram Darbar and Hallo Majra had been inhaling dust for four years. After continuous protests by the AAP, the BJP government had to build this road. But the road was built using substandard material,” said AAP leader Virendra Singh Veeru.
“The BJP councillor had assured that this road will last 50 years, but it collapsed in just 50 days. This clearly proves that corruption has been done in the construction of this road,” he said.
Another AAP leader, Ramesh Kumar Tank, said, “If the road continues to break like this, a major accident can happen.”
“It is unfortunate that the BJP leaders in power are not concerned about the life of common people. We demand a probe into the works being done by the BJP-ruled MC,” added AAP organisation secretary Vikram Singh Pundir.
