Seeking withdrawal of the recent power tariff hike, a delegation of the AAP leaders staged a protest outside the district court here on Tuesday.
Members of the AAP, led by Majha Zone president Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, handed over a memorandum to Assistant Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Dhaliwal, seeking withdrawal of the orders.
Kuldeep said the government had raised the power tariff several times during its three-year tenure and blamed the erroneous economic policies of the government responsible for the economic crisis in the state.
AAP city president Rajinder Pallah said the AAP government was giving free electricity up to 200 units in Delhi. On the other hand, Punjab though self-sufficient in generating power was hiking power rates after regular intervals.
