AAP ‘manipulating’ panchayat poll, alleges Warring
Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and Ludhiana MP, has expressed grave concern over Punjab Government’s ‘blatant manipulation’ ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections. Warring has accused the Bhagwant Mann government of deliberately delaying the release of the village reservation list, giving undue advantage to candidates connected with the AAP.
“This is a calculated move by the AAP government to ensure that individuals with direct links to their party are elected as sarpanches in these villages. By withholding the village reservation list, they are giving their own people extra time to prepare, while other candidates across Punjab will be left scrambling to campaign in the short time left,” Warring remarked.
“The panchayat elections are taking place after a very long period and for the first time under the tenure of this government. With the list being withheld, aspiring candidates are left in limbo, unable to complete their necessary documentation in time, thus hampering their ability to effectively campaign,” the PPCC chief added.
