Former Mayor Kulwant Singh said AAP had provided unconditional support to the Azad Group and their candidates would also be incorporated in the group. He said today they had released another list of 11 candidates taking the total number of candidates of the group to 41. He said the final list of the remaining nine candidates would also be released soon.
In a press note, a spokesman for AAP said the MC elections, scheduled for February 14, would be fought jointly with the Azad Group. The party said joint candidates would contest on all 50 seats.
He alleged that the Congress and the Akalis, while in power, had worked to “fill their pockets” instead of working for the welfare of the people.
He appealed to the people to vote for qualified, educated and honest candidates so that work could be done for the development of the city.
